Welcome to the Portal

I would like to welcome you to the Portal,
My name is Mario and I am one of Tim staff member. I will help you set up your portal, but the first thing I would like you to do is log in to the admin area (some people call it back office). To do this type http://yourportalname.com/admin.html in your browser. It will ask for a user name and password, user name is admin password is the one you got from Tim.

Here you will find different kind of information about your portal, some user_names and password that you are going to need and thing to do. The first thing you should do is scroll down a little and to the left side you will see  Start Here - Intro Letter click the intro letter.

View the video that on the top then read thing to do, after this srow down and write in a safe place the user_name and password for #4 and #5 we are going to work with these later. If you like read Tim  stories.

Ok let’s start working on the portal.
If you look at your portal you may have some small banner in black and white saying Portal Directors Needed, for now we are just going to replace them with this spot for sale ok,  to do this go to the admin area (Try opening a new tap it better) scrow down to the left side until you see editing then click  Edit Front Page Ads scroll down and look ad your banners the first one is local news so if you see a need portal director banner here click the button that reads set ads to this spot for sell.

Within the portal you are going to find out that there are two different ways to place your banners and doing your Premium ads.
1-The easy way–just following the steps provided in the admin area and on the nest page (making banners) or (using the templates for the Premium ads)
2-The next one is advance HTML–You must have some knowledge in using HTML

I want you to first go and look around the admin area the left side, scroll down until you see editing and click the front page editing. scroll down and see all the different banner you can make, then go back and click the next one. look at it and study it, try to get the felling of thing ok.

Take your time
You will not learn everything in one day, since there is a lot to learn. Play with your portal admin area, in most pages you will find a bottom that reads (restore to original) if you make a mistake or just practicing just click the button, and you will be back as you started.

Please take your time and read the provided materials in the admin area. Angelica, Tim or myself will help you and answer any question you have just go to the convention center, then portal directors meeting and leave your question there.
